We are pleased to advise our sailing program is up and running again. 

After some rigorous debate on the club’s future, it was decided by the meeting to place the clubs sailing program in hibernation.

Just 4 sailors arrived at the lake, and quickly and easily got Lex's throwin marks into place while Andrew got some minor electrical issues sorted out with his boat. 

Thankfully the seabreeze arrived as we were rigging up. A Rigs was the rig of choice.

Final Saturday of 2024 IOM Scratch Racing

Great to be back on the water again.

We had 6 sailors today for our Scratch event, conditions were B Rig, out of the W/NW.

We were greeted by B Rig conditions today, this matched the forecast.

We have our AGM this Saturday 15.05.24 1100hrs

We had 7 boats hit the water today for a picture postcard day on the lake at Harrington!

A small but extremely competitive group of members enjoyed an afternoon in a nice cool seabreeze.

A great day on the lake was shared by 6 sailors, with Roger Paul and Graeme Howie making the trip down and joining in

We were greeted today by a light, wafting seabreeze, 7 knots at best

Well it was exciting Sailing this afternoon, the fresh seabreeze pushed the B Rigs around the lake.

We had a stand at the recent Summer Sport Promotion supported by the City of Rockingham.

With only 4 competitors we decided to sail Scratch races today, 

We were greeted with a variable breeze switching between SE and S today, only light, 5-10 knots as forecast. 

With the Clubs AGM now done and dusted, our HWRS Membership fees have been set, without change from last year.

Just a reminder our AGM is this Saturday 7th May 2022, prior to racing.

We were met with a very shifty South East/ South/ South West breeze.

We were greeted with a tricky ENE breeze today, A Rigs all afternoon, the breeze not greater than 10 Knots.

8 hardy souls ventured into the heat this afternoon, although we were greeted by a very pleasant and cooling seabreeze.

The New Trophy was sailed for this afternoon.

Our final heat of the Club Scratch Championship was sailed yesterday.

We were hoping the reported 30knot seabreeze would develop this afternoon, it didn't!

We were greeted by a gentle 10 knot seabreeze for our 4th Heat of the Club Handicap Championship.

Hi everyone, a testing day today, with the breeze out of the North West.

Premier McGowan announced new rules for our 'way out' if the recent COVID-19 Lockdown.

Sailing is ON Saturday 3rd July 2021, subject to numbers and you MUST WEAR A MASK.

We are currently awaiting WA Government and Health Department updates for sailing this coming weekend.

Hi all, we were greeted by a N/NW 10knot breeze yesterday.

Well those see who made it to the AGM, were later rewarded with a very pleasant afternoon sail.

Our South Metro IOM Ranking event has been run and won.

Although frustrating at times with the lack of breeze

A small but quality fleet met the starters gun today

We are holding the above event 17th April 2021, it is an all day event.

Great to be back on our lake today, no sign of the obstruction any more, so that is good.

It was great to have 9 starters on the line for yesterdays event.

A fleet of 8 yachts competed in Saturdays event, thoughts on Rig choice varied greatly on the apparent various reports from the Weather Bureau.

Well what a day that was, there were those who thought that an “A” rig might suffice and those who wisely chose a “B” rig for the day.

Congratulations to Peter Buchanan on a masterful display of sailing at the top of the “B” rig.

The Second race of the Handicap Championship was held this afternoon.

A fine Winters day saw some great tight racing occur

We held our Scratch 2020 Club Championship on Saturday.

Very interesting results after a day’s racing in quite light winds, which made reading the water patterns tricky. 

Our first Scratch racing event after the COVID19 lock down was sailed in tricky and shifty South East to South breezes.

After the WA State Government relaxed the COVID-19 Isolation Laws last week, your committee decided to reopen sailing for the 2020 Season.

The Australian Radio Yachting Association (ARYA) in conjunction with the state associations has made the decision to postpone all events conducted under the overall authority of the ARYA scheduled prior to 30 April 2020.
