A very pleasant but testing day on the lake
With the oscillating and variable strength breeze, and the leaves drifting down the course continuously.
A Rigs were the choice with the predominantly light fickle breeze which started in the West and moved around to the South as the day went on, keeping the boat boy on his toes.
Only 5 boats began the day, but importantly the same 5 boats finished. It was great to have Ross Ley and Ian Sherriff back out on the course with their IOMs, and they both made their presence felt with good boat speed at times and picking up the occasional wins.
Chris Aberle was, as usual, hard to beat, and finished the day with 3 wins under his belt. Cliff Davis had good boat speed all day, keeping him the only boat to remain on the maximum handicap for all 12 races, and even taking the occasional win from that position. But it was the ever consistent Ken Prince who deservingly took out the day, from Cliff and Ian.
Congratulations to the podium, and thanks to all sailors who made it along on the day.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our AGM and IOM Scratch day on May 18th beginning at 11:00am.
